Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday held a high-level meeting to review law and order, disaster management, and preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra. The Chief Minister issued strict directives to senior police officials to conduct intensive verification drives across all districts and maintain close vigil on state borders.
He emphasized that surveillance on the Kanwar Yatra route must be intensified through the use of CCTV cameras and drone technology to ensure smooth and secure passage for pilgrims. He also called for improving the traffic control system to avoid congestion during the religious procession, which witnesses a massive influx of devotees.
In view of monsoon-related emergencies, CM Dhami instructed officials to ensure the availability of heli-ambulance services for quick response in remote and disaster-prone areas. He also stressed on reinforcing women’s safety infrastructure across the state and directed continuous monitoring of public grievances to ensure timely resolution.
Highlighting the state’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs, CM Dhami asked the police to act strictly against those involved in drug trafficking and addiction. He warned that disciplinary action will be taken against officers who show negligence or fail to take victims seriously in criminal cases.
“The government’s stance on crime and criminals is crystal clear—no compromise on law and order,” said the Chief Minister, adding that all enforcement agencies must function in a coordinated and accountable manner. He reaffirmed that Uttarakhand would continue to move forward under the principles of safety, discipline, and zero tolerance towards crime.
