Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high-level meeting at the Secretariat today to review the preparations for the Maa Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra, scheduled to be held in 2026. The Yatra, which is considered one of the most sacred and culturally significant pilgrimages in Uttarakhand, draws devotees from across the country and abroad.
During the meeting, CM Dhami directed officials to ensure timely repair of travel routes, construction of safety railings, and proper arrangements for first-aid centers, ambulances, and telemedicine services at all key halting points along the route. He stressed that public safety and convenience must remain a top priority throughout the Yatra.
Describing the Raj Jat Yatra as a symbol of Uttarakhand’s spiritual and cultural heritage, the Chief Minister said that all departments must work in close coordination to ensure its dignified and well-organized execution. He also emphasized the importance of local involvement, instructing officials to include folk artists, gram panchayats, and voluntary organizations in the planning and implementation process.
To preserve the traditional essence of the Yatra, CM Dhami encouraged the promotion of cultural performances and rituals associated with the event. He also directed the preparation of an integrated action plan and asked that all necessary groundwork and logistical preparations be completed by the end of 2025.
“The Maa Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra must be a safe, spiritual, and unforgettable experience for every devotee,” said the Chief Minister, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the seamless execution of this revered pilgrimage.
Senior officials from tourism, health, public works, and cultural departments were present during the meeting to discuss inter-departmental coordination and planning.
