Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during a high-level review meeting of the Finance Department at the Secretariat, issued clear directives to all departments to ensure the efficient utilization of at least 80% of their allocated budget by December. Stressing the importance of financial discipline and transparency, the Chief Minister also instructed officials to adopt a robust digital system for real-time and transparent monitoring of budget expenditures.
CM Dhami highlighted the need to enhance the state’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection and directed departments to make proactive efforts to increase revenue generation. “Timely and effective utilization of the budget is key to strengthening our economy,” he said, adding that departments must give top priority to schemes implemented jointly by the Centre and the State.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth rate of over 13% reflects Uttarakhand’s economic progress in recent years. “Our goal now is to accelerate this growth further. Departments are working actively on medium- and long-term strategies to achieve this,” he added.
Dhami emphasized that investments in sectors like education, healthcare, human resource development, sports, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence will be prioritized. These areas, he said, are critical to ensuring inclusive and sustainable growth in the state.
“Our government is committed to building a strong, transparent, and visionary economic framework. Every department must align its strategies with this broader goal,” CM Dhami concluded.
The meeting was attended by senior finance and planning officials, who presented updates on ongoing schemes, revenue collection trends, and proposed digital reforms for better fiscal management.
