In a bizarre incident that has stirred local sentiments in Haridwar, a woman from Laksar area has reportedly left her husband and two children to live with her nephew, citing a romantic relationship. The incident has created a stir in the area and has now reached the police, following a complaint filed by the woman’s husband.
According to reports, the woman was married eight years ago and has two children. Meanwhile she developed an intimate relationship with her nephew, which eventually turned into a love affair. Ignoring social norms and family responsibilities, the woman chose to leave her home and elope with her nephew.
When the woman’s husband realised she had left with their relative, he filed a complaint at the Sultanpur police post under Laksar Kotwali. The police intervened and summoned both the woman and her nephew to the station. Family members also attempted to counsel the couple, urging them to reconsider their decision for the sake of the children.
However, the woman remained firm and declared that she had no intention of returning to her husband. Outpost in-charge Virendra Singh Negi confirmed, “The woman refused to go with her husband and insisted she wants to live with her nephew. She was sent with him in the presence of villagers.”
The police stated that efforts would be made again to counsel the woman and her nephew. Meanwhile, the husband is left heartbroken and struggling to cope with the situation, especially for the well-being of their two children. The case has sparked a debate in the community over morality, family values, and legal implications.
