Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the Uttarakhand government’s remarkable achievement of grounding over ₹1 lakh crore in investments, calling it a true demonstration of valour during the Uttarakhand Nivesh Utsav (Uttarakhand Investment Festival) held at Rudrapur. Addressing a large gathering of investors, dignitaries, and entrepreneurs, Shah shared a special moment from the 2023 Global Investors Summit, where he had challenged Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to bring the MoUs to the ground.
“Signing MoUs is not valour — bringing investment to the ground is real valour,” Shah recalled telling the CM. He added, “Today, I can proudly say CM Dhami has shown that valour.” He also offered a strong pat on the back to the Chief Minister for his exceptional execution and governance, and assured that the Modi government would stand firmly with Uttarakhand in every effort to push development forward.
As the chief guest of the event, Amit Shah said that grounding 30% of the total ₹3.57 lakh crore worth of MoUs within a short period was a significant accomplishment. He praised CM Dhami repeatedly during his speech, calling him not only a popular and successful leader but also referring to him warmly as a “brother”.
In a candid comparison, Shah spoke about his home state Gujarat, acknowledging the unique challenges of investment in hill states like Uttarakhand. He credited the CM’s pro-investment policies, peaceful environment, and improved infrastructure for creating an attractive investment climate in the state.
The Home Minister also spotlighted key state government initiatives that are accelerating Uttarakhand’s economic journey, branding them as model policies that can inspire other states. His address cemented Uttarakhand’s position as a rising investment hub in India.
