Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the Tibetan community and all fellow citizens on the occasion of the 90th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The celebration was held at Clement Town, Dehradun, where the Tibetan community gathered in large numbers to pay tribute to their revered spiritual leader.
During the event, CM Dhami made key announcements for the Tibetan settlement, including the widening of the Buddha Temple Road and the construction of a tin shed at the Tibetan cremation ground, aimed at easing local infrastructure challenges and providing improved civic amenities.
In his address, the Chief Minister described the Dalai Lama as a global symbol of peace, non-violence, and compassion. He said, “His Holiness has taught the world the values of harmony and understanding. His message of ‘My religion is compassion’ truly makes him a spiritual guru for the entire world, especially in today’s times of uncertainty and conflict.”
Dhami lauded the Tibetan community for their deep-rooted values, discipline, and their contribution to Uttarakhand’s cultural diversity. “Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has always welcomed the Tibetan community with open arms. Our government is committed to protecting their interests and promoting their cultural, educational, and social progress,” he said.
The Chief Minister also offered prayers for the Dalai Lama’s good health and long life so that future generations may continue to benefit from his spiritual wisdom.
The program reflected warmth, gratitude, and the deep emotional bond shared between the Tibetan community and the people of Uttarakhand.
