Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan Inspects Badrinath Master Plan Works

To review the progress of various projects, which are being executed under the Badrinath Master Plan, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan has visited Badrinath Dham today. During his inspection, he reviewed key sites including the Arrival Plaza, Civic Amenity Center, Badrish and Shesh Netra Lakes, River Front, and the Hospital.

The Chief Secretary directed the executive agencies to complete the construction of the Civic Amenity Center, Arrival Plaza, and Tourism Management Center by May. He further instructed that the new hospital facility should be handed over by August and emphasized the rapid completion of the F and G phases of the River Front development.

Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari briefed the Chief Secretary about the ongoing works. He informed that essential services such as drinking water, electricity supply, and toilets have already been completed. Additionally, work on Brahma Kapal, River Front, Astha Path, Arrival Plaza, and Darshan Line will be completed before the temple doors open to devotees.

DM Tiwari also mentioned that electricity and water connections for traders and residents have begun, and toilets have been repaired by Sulabh International. The internal routes of the Dham are being upgraded, damaged footpaths are being restored, and cleanliness is being managed by deployed environmental teams.

Superintendent of Police briefed that tight security arrangements have been made, with NDRF and SDRF teams deployed for disaster response readiness.

Tourism Secretary Sachin Kurve, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Joshimath C.S. Vashisht, PWD Superintending Engineer Rajesh Chandra, BKTC CEO Vijay Thapliyal, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Abhishek Gupta, and PIU Assistant Engineer Sunny Paliwal, along with other key officials, were present during the inspection.

The Chief Secretary emphasized timely completion of all works to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage season at Badrinath Dham.
