PG Bond Holder Doctors Deployed in Four Medical Colleges Across Uttarakhand

 In a bid to strengthen the healthcare system in Uttarakhand, 19 specialist doctors have been deployed across four medical colleges in the state. They have completed their PG courses under the bond scheme. Medical Education Director Dr. Ashutosh Sayana has sent a list of the doctors to the principals of the respective colleges for immediate deployment.

These PG bond holder doctors have completed their specialist training in various disciplines including Anesthesia, ENT, General Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Respiratory Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Ophthalmology. As per the bond conditions, the doctors are now mandated to serve in state medical institutions.

The maximum number of doctors, eight, have been posted to Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Government Medical College, Srinagar. Almora has received five doctors, Dehradun four, and Haldwani two.

Dr. Sayana stated that this deployment would enhance medical services, especially during the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, ensuring better healthcare for the influx of pilgrims. He emphasized that these doctors will play a crucial role in patient care and emergency services during the yatra season.

He further added that every year, more doctors will be available as PG pass-outs, helping bridge the gap of specialist doctors in state-run medical colleges. Dr. Sayana reiterated the department’s commitment to expanding PG courses across all specialties to meet
