Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed appointment letters to 139 newly selected candidates under the Higher Education and Medical Education Departments at the Mukhya Sewak House today.
Congratulating the appointees, the CM called upon them to serve with dedication, honesty, and a sense of responsibility. He emphasized that the state is working with an “alternative-free resolve” to make Uttarakhand the best state in the country. “Jobs are now being given purely on the basis of merit, talent, and capability,” he said, noting that competitive exams are being conducted with complete fairness. He proudly announced that the total number of appointments made during the past three and a half years is set to surpass 23,000.
Among the 139 newly appointed candidates were 52 Assistant Professors selected by the Public Service Commission for the Higher Education Department, along with 18 Professors, 36 Associate Professors for Medical Colleges, and 33 Tutors and Medical Social Workers for Nursing Colleges selected through the Medical Services Selection Commission.
CM Dhami highlighted the government’s strong measures against exam malpractice, particularly paper leaks, stating that systemic reforms have restored youth confidence in the recruitment process. “This is not just employment—it is a great opportunity to serve society and humanity,” he said, urging the appointees to carry out their roles with integrity and a spirit of service.
He also spotlighted transformative reforms in the health and education sectors under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Efforts include opening medical colleges in every district, upgrading hospitals, and rapidly filling vacant faculty positions.
The CM praised Uttarakhand’s pioneering role in implementing the National Education Policy and stressed the need to equip students not just with academic knowledge but also with a sense of social responsibility and readiness for entrepreneurship. He pointed to initiatives like the Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana, monthly scholarships for meritorious students, and research grants of up to ₹18 lakh as part of the government’s broader youth empowerment agenda.
Higher Education and Medical Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat announced that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to have filled all faculty positions in higher education. He added that 70% of medical college posts are filled, with the remaining 15% expected to be completed within three months.
Other dignitaries present included Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi, MLAs Khajan Das and Savita Kapoor, and senior departmental officials.
