Tragic accident claims five lives on Mussoorie-Dehradun road

A devastating accident on the Mussoorie-Dehradun road near Jharipani Road has left five individuals dead, including four young men and two girls, after the car they were travelling in veered off the road and plunged into a deep ditch on Saturday morning. The victims, all students of Dehradun IMS College, were returning from a trip to Mussoorie when the tragic incident occurred. According to SP city six people were boarding but five have lost their lives.

According to official sources, the car lost control near Chunakhan while en route to Dehradun, leading to the fatal plunge into the gorge. Upon receiving news of the accident, rescue efforts were swiftly mobilized by authorities. Teams from Mussoorie Police, Fire Service, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rushed to the scene to initiate rescue operations.

Despite the challenging terrain and the depth of the ditch, responders worked tirelessly to extricate the victims from the wreckage. Two girls, who were found to be breathing, were initially rescued from the ditch and immediately transported to Dehradun Higher Center for urgent medical attention. In which one girl succumbed to their injuries and other girl is admitted in hospital.

Meanwhile, the four young men involved in the accident had tragically succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The accident prompted an immediate response from nearby residents, who rushed to the scene to offer assistance and support.

The Mussoorie Police are currently engaged in the process of identifying the victims and notifying their families. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of road travel and the importance of adhering to safety measures while driving.

2- Digyansh Pratap Bhati, S/O Devendra Singh Bhati belongs to Jwalapur, Haridwar and was IMS university students

3 Tanuja Rawat, D/O Sohan Singh belongs to Roorkee, Haridwar and was student of IMS university.

4-Ashutosh Tiwari, S/O Veer Bahadur Tiwari belongs to Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh

5-Hridyansh Chandra, S/O Harish Chandra belongs to Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh
