Second year student of Doon Medical College commits suicide

A student of the MBBS-2 year student of the state-run Doon Medical College at Patel Nagar committed suicide sometime last Friday. The police reached the spot on the information of the hostel management and took possession of the body and started investigations. The student was originally from Gururgram, Haryana. SP city Shweta Chaubey told that the family members have been informed about the incident. After the arrival of them on Sunday, post mortem will be performed. It is being told that the student had joined the Doon Medical College in the year 2016. This year the medical college got the approval of the MCI. Due to year back, Dilip went into depression. He was constantly troubled.

According to the police, the student was identified as Dilip Kumar resident Gururgram, Haryana. He was a student of MBBS at State Doon Medical College here. Dilip’s roommate Kumar Gaurav had gone to his house in Haridwar for a month. Dilip was living alone in his room these days. It is being told that Dilip was not seen out since Friday evening. On Saturday evening, Dilip’s father received a call from a student living next to his room.

They said that Dilip’s phone is not being answered. After this many students gathered there and began to try to open the door of Dilip’s room. His friends kept ringing his phone, but his phone was unanswered. Even after waiting for a long time, Dilip did not come out of the room nor got any response from the phone, then the medical college management informed the matter to the Patel Nagar police.

After this, Market Chowk Incharge Girish Negi reached the spot and broke the door of the hostel’s room. Inside Dilip was hanging from a white sheet tied with a fan. The police has sent the dead body to the post-mortem. SP City Shweta Chaubey told that it is likely that the student had committed suicide on Friday any time. Only after the post mortem report is available, it can be said clearly. The kin of the student is being contacted. No suicide note is found in the room. He was under stress and had been undergoing treatment for depression since 2017 from Sri Mahant Indiresh Hospital.
