PM Modi elevates Uttarakhand’s Symbols: Pahari topi, Aipan art and Adi Kailash

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was presented with significant symbols of the state during Rudrapur rally on Tuesday. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and his team gifted PM Modi the traditional Pahari Topi (cap) of Uttarakhand, the ancient Aipan art of Kumaon and a photo of Adi Kailash. Besides it, CM Dhami presented a special conch shell (Shankh) from Tamil Nadu to PM Modi.

These cultural items hold deep significance in Uttarakhand and have been elevated to new heights, thanks in part to PM Modi’s recognition and promotion of them on a global scale.

The Uttarakhandi Topi (cap) has gained widespread popularity, largely due to PM Modi. He has featured it prominently in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program and wears it during his visits to Uttarakhand. This has led to a surge in demand for the cap, especially adorned with the Brahmakamal emblem. People in Uttarakhand now wear this cap with increased pride.

Similarly, the Aipan art of Kumaon has garnered attention, especially after CM Dhami presented it to PM Modi during his visits to Delhi. This unique art form has piqued curiosity among people, who are eager to learn more about it and even purchase it.

The same can be said for Adi Kailash, a significant pilgrimage site. PM Modi’s visit to this area, at the invitation of CM Dhami, encouraged more people to visit. In line with PM Modi’s vision, CM Dhami has initiated helicopter services to Adi Kailash under the UDAN scheme. This move has seen positive results, with increased movement of people to the area.
