On the final day of the mayoral election campaign, Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate Ravindra Singh Anand addressed a press conference, outlining his vision for Dehradun’s all-round development and brighter future. A lifelong resident of the city, Anand emphasized his familiarity with its streets and challenges, pledging transformative changes if elected.
Highlighting rising crime rates, Anand promised to install 5 lakh CCTV cameras across the city to enhance security and provide peace of mind to residents. Addressing the growing parking crisis, he proposed the establishment of free parking zones for 100 vehicles in each of the city’s 100 wards, accommodating 10,000 cars and alleviating congestion.
Anand also prioritized effective garbage disposal, leveraging his experience as chairman of the Mandi Samiti. He pledged to install organic waste composter machines, ensuring efficient waste management while providing free fertilizer to residents and farmers.
Focusing on health and wellness, Anand proposed the development of gyms, physiotherapy centers, and yoga facilities in parks and neighborhoods to promote fitness and well-being among citizens. He also expressed a commitment to supporting the transgender community by creating a complex with affordable shops, enabling self-reliance and empowerment.
Criticizing the past performances of BJP and Congress mayors, Anand claimed they focused on superficial ceremonial tasks rather than meaningful progress. He urged voters to choose a mayor who works at the grassroots level and delivers tangible results.
