Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed a public meeting in Pithoragarh on Saturday, appealing to voters to elect BJP’s mayoral candidate Smt. Kalpana Devlal and councilor candidates in the upcoming municipal corporation elections.
Speaking at the event, CM Dhami emphasized the BJP’s vision to transform Pithoragarh into an ideal and beautiful city. “To achieve planned development and make Pithoragarh a green and clean city, it is essential to have a BJP-led ‘double engine’ government,” he said, referring to the synergy between the state and central governments.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to maintaining public hygiene, CM Dhami mentioned the recent crackdown on spit jihad in Bageshwar, a practice he condemned as reflecting a “disgusting mentality.” He assured strict action against offenders, emphasizing that cleanliness and respect for public spaces are priorities for the government.
In a sharp critique of the Congress, the Chief Minister accused the opposition of fostering land jihad and undermining religious sentiments. “Congress calls Lord Ram imaginary, mocks the construction of the Ram Mandir, and has divided itself in Pithoragarh. The people should not fall into their trap,” he said.
CM Dhami also highlighted ongoing actions against illegal land acquisitions, stating that investigations are underway in 750 cases of rule violations. He reiterated the BJP’s commitment to development and good governance, urging voters to support the party for the region’s growth and prosperity.
The event saw enthusiastic participation, with supporters rallying behind CM Dhami’s leadership and vision for Pithoragarh.
