UK tableau selected for RD parade-2019

The tableau of Uttarakhand will attract everyone during the Republic Day Parade-2019. Deputy Director, Information Department and Nodal Officer of National Ceremony KS Chauhan has said that in the Republic Day parade held in New Delhi, every year tableau of different states participates. For which proposals of tableau are invited by the State Governments and Union Territories, Ministries, Departments every year by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. These proposals are examined on the basis of the parameters set by the Expert Committee constituted by the Ministry of Defence and the final selected tableaus are also made under the supervision of the Expert Committee.

Chauhan said that this year, the Government of India had instructed all the states that as India celebrates the 150 birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in 2019, the theme of the parade of the Republic Day should be kept based on Mahatma Gandhi Ji, in which tableau related to Mahatma Gandhi’s migration period in various states and other important places should be included and the proposal of the related tableau was sent to Union Government.

It was effective presentation during the six rounds meeting of the Expert Selection Committee formed by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, after which the tableau of Uttarakhand was finally selected. The theme of the tableau has been kept “Anasakti Ashram”. In the tableau, the “Anasakti Ashram”, located in Kausani in Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand, which Mahatma Gandhi had called “Switzerland of India”, has been a very peaceful place.

Mahatma Gandhi had visited this ashram in 1929 and wrote a review of “Anasakti Yoga” book at this place. This ashram is operated by local women. A daily prayer meeting is organized in the ashram every morning and evening and the ashram has been developed as a library and research center. In the front part of the tableau, a large statue of Mahatma Gandhi Ji writing Anasakti Yoga has been shown. In the central part, Anasakti Ashram, located in Kausani has been shown and on both sides of the ashram, tourists doing yoga and study and people and Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant has been shown talking to Mahatma Gandhi Ji. In the last section of the tableau, Deodar trees, local citizens and high mountain peaks have been shown. In the side panel, the cultural heritage of Uttarakhand, Jageshwar Dham, Badrinath and Kedarnath temple have been depicted.

Mr. Chauhan said that the first meeting for selection of tableau in New Delhi was held on November 30, 2018, in which the proposal of 31 states and 20 ministries was discussed. After this, six round meeting and presentation, Special Selection Committee has finally selected the tableau of 14 States and 6 Ministries, which includes Uttarakhand as well. These states include Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

Chauhan said that in the last few years, Uttarakhand has exhibited tableau on different subjects during the the Republic Day Parade, in which the subject in Year 2003 was Phool Dei, Year 2005 – Nanda Raj Jay Yatra, Year 2006 – Valley of Flowers, Year 2007 – Corbett National Park, Yesr 2009 – Adventure Tourism, Year 2010 – Kumbh Mela Haridwar, Year 2014 – Herbs, Medicinal Plants, Year 2015 – Kedarnath, Year 2016 – Festival of Ramman and Year 2018 – Village Tourism.

Chauhan said that there is a lot of competition before the other states for selection of tableaus related to their state for which a rationally effective presentation is given. He said that it is a matter of great pride for all of us that since the formation of the state, Uttarakhand tableau has been part of the Republic Day parade 10 times.
