The Uttarakhand sports department is ready to conduct ‘Khel Mahakumbh- 2017’, a mega sports event scheduled to be happen between  Nov 9-Dec 13.

To review the preparation state sports Minister Arvind Pandey convened a meeting at secretariat today. During the meeting it was decided to ensure extensive publicity for the event. The process of online registration for the event has started and a mobile app has also been launched.

The sports event would be launched on the occasion of State foundation day in all district headquarters. It would be held at village, block, district and state level. Its objective is to create awareness about sports, create conducive atmosphere for sports and provide a platform for talented youngsters.

For this active participation from education, Panchayati raj and youth welfare departments are also needed for success of the event. He would soon hold meeting with different departments

through video conferencing. The meeting was attended by Secretary Sports Harbans Singh Chugh, Additional secretary law Mahesh Kaushiva, Joint Director Atar Singh, Sports Director Prashant Arya and other officers of department of sports.
