Army veterans’ rally concluded at Srinagar

Two days long a Veterans Rally, which was organised at Srinagar (Garhwal) on October 13-14 under the tutelage of Garud Division, concluded tday. It was organized to create awareness among the veterans about the projects which are being run for their welfare by the State and union government. With this they want to enhance their image among mass too.

The Rally was inaugurated by Maj Gen Kabindra Singh, GOC, Garud Division and attended by Senior Military Officers and other civil dignitaries. Extensive arrangements were made by the division to assist veterans to address their basic problem. Various stalls to disseminate informations like Pension Adalat for pension benefits, linking of Aadhaar Card, Pan Card & Mob No, new pension schemes of various banks, Army Placement Node and Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), online registration for digital life certificate etc were incorporated.

A medical camp was also organized wherein the services of various medical specialists was made available to the veterans and their families.  An eye care stall was established by Nirmal Eye Care, Rishikesh for free eye check-up. In addition, modified scooters were distributed among disabled veterans and Veer Naris were also felicitated during the occasion.

Various cultural programmes like Bhangra & Gatka were also organised.  The rally received overwhelming response with many veterans participating in the event. The elaborate arrangements made by Garud Division at the rally were appreciated by one and all.
