Taking cognizance on the major embarrassment after the picture of Asiya Andrabi picture printed along with women achievers including Chief minister mehbooba mufti on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, Jammu & Kashmir government has suspended an officer allegedly responsible for the banner and ordered a probe in this connection today. Opposition blamed the Mufti government is accountable for this embarassment
Asiya, the pro-pakistan chief of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (daughter of the nation) organization, printed in the banner along with the chief minster Mehbooba Mufti, Mother Teresa, Indira gandhi, lata Mangeshkar, Sania Mirza and governor Kiran Bedi. Its objective was to highlight the women achievers of the country, was hoisted at a function held to promote girl education in south Kashmir kokernag area on Wednesday.
Shamima, the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Breng block in Anantnag district, has been placed under suspension and an inquiry has been ordered into the incident, an official claimed.
The officer further said that Asiya was not a role model for women in the country including J &K. Currently she has been detained under public safety act and openly claims for the merger of J&K with neighbouring country Pakistan.
She has been facing several cases including hoisting of Pakistani flag on August 14 and March 23 — the Independence Day and National Day of Pakistan, respectively. State congress spokesperson Ravinder sharma said “It is complete failure of PDP-BJP led state government and they should seek apology from nation immediately.” He opined that was not it deliberate attempt to appease the separatist element of the state.
