To support Pradhans PCC written a letter to CM

DAINIK NATION BUREAU

Taking cognizance on the Gram Pradhans’ protest, who have been sitting on fast unto death against the government decision to expand the area of municipal corporations by attaching nearby villages, UK PCC President Preetam Singh has written a letter to CM Trivendra Singh Rawat and demanded their immediate intervention on it.

In which Singh mentioned that as Pradhans are sitting on fast unto death for the last eight days and now their conditions have started deteriorating. In view of this he appealed to the CM to address their grievance with immediate effect.

As they have alleged that 14th finance commission and state finance has made changes in the budget allocation of the Panchayat representatives including Gram Pradhan. Due to this reason Panchayat’s development works are getting affected so they have been demanding to maintain status quo. PCC president also stressed that he believes that their demands are genuine so government should resume status quo on it.

Ironically, state assembly has passed the Panchayatiraj act but it is yet to be implemented in the state. state should implement the act in the state too. He personally believes that their demands are genuine so government should not accept their demand without making unnecessary delay.

He also reminded that they had raised the issue inside the house then government had assured the house that they would consult the Panchayat representatives before making any expansion of the area. Despite giving assurance in the house government has decided to expand the area without their consultation
