Reacting against the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat’s allegation that Rs 600 crore scam happened during Congress regime especially between 2014-17, state PCC President Preetam Singh has categorically said that if they really believe that scam had happened then they should conduct CBI enquiry on it since 2012 instead of 2014. As chief minister has authority to recommend the case to CBI. It is known to everyone that CM Rawat is doing politics by using enquiry/CBI enquiry because earlier also they had referred the NH-74 scam to the CBI but what happened with that case. He advised the CM to do something concrete on the ground instead of bad mouthing for the sake of politics only.
He reiterated that if government has evidence then anomalies have happened then they should refer the case to CBI and conduct enquiry since 2012 or since inception of Uttarakhand. Their party would welcome this. Being a former Food and Civil Supply Minister Preetam Singh said that it is true that he was leading the ministry but he could not smell it so he demanded CBI enquiry to dig out the truth. He also made it clear that he would not tolerate corruption anymore. He is ready to face any consequence so you refer the case to CBI.
He further alleged that BJP is running political vendetta to terrorise congress workers. For instance, they brought no confidence motion against the Block Pramukh but when they failed to achieve their mission then they took away kshetra panchayat members through chopper for joy ride. Even their MLAs are being pressurized to gag their voice. For instance, the Dharchula MLA Harish Dhami is being pressurized through government machinery. He warned the BJP led state government that their party has long legacy of fighting against the corruption so they would not hesitate to fight the case on road.
Sharpening its arsenal PCC chief also alleged that BJP had shown rosy picture to the voters during election that once they would be voted to power by creating two million job per annum but now three and half years have passed but people are yet to get employment.
