Champawat district administration has announced a holiday in all schools and Anganwadi centers on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. DM has issued holiday order in view of heavy rain alert issued by the Meteorological Center, Dehradun.

According to the official notification, the closure will apply to all government, council, aided, and recognized private schools from Class 1 to 12, as well as Anganwadi centers. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of children amid the forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the district.

District officials have also appealed to residents to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay alert to weather updates. Emergency services and disaster management teams have been kept on standby to respond promptly to any situation that may arise due to heavy rains.

The administration has further instructed school authorities to ensure that students, teachers, and staff remain safe, while parents have been urged not to send children out unnecessarily during adverse weather conditions.

The heavy rainfall prediction comes at a time when several parts of Uttarakhand are already witnessing landslides, waterlogging, and rising river levels, making precautionary steps crucial.
