Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has categorically reaffirmed his government’s firm stand against the cheating mafia. He asserted that those conspiring to defame Uttarakhand’s recruitment system will not be spared under any circumstances. Referring to the arrest of Hakam Singh, the Chief Minister said that his mastermind will also be brought behind bars.

The Chief Minister was addressing the launch of the weekly newspaper Adda Insider at a local hotel. He recalled that when he took charge as Chief Minister on July 4, 2021, there were around 22,000 vacancies in various departments. “Today, thanks to the government’s transparent recruitment process, more than 25,000 youth have secured government jobs, and not a single case of cheating has been reported,” he said.

Dhami emphasized that the government had introduced stringent anti-cheating laws to ensure fairness in examinations. “These strict measures have disturbed certain elements, leading to deliberate attempts to defame the government. On Sunday also, such an attempt was made, even though it was not a paper leak case. Coaching mafias and cheating mafias are hatching conspiracies, but they will soon be exposed,” he said, adding that past attempts were thwarted through transparent examinations.

Responding to media queries, the Chief Minister said that the people of Uttarakhand have placed their faith in political stability and development, and the state’s future will be shaped by both.

On the issue of natural disasters, Dhami said the entire Himalayan region has been badly affected this year. “We strive to be the first responders in every disaster. The government is dedicated to reaching the affected people quickly, sharing their grief, and ensuring immediate relief and rescue operations,” he said. He added that scientific institutions in the state are being engaged to study the causes of disasters, provide advance warnings, and minimize damage.

The program was attended by Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bahuguna, former Chief Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, former State Congress President Ganesh Godiyal, Principal Secretary Dr. R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari, Prof. Surekha Dangwal, Prof. Durgesh Pant, senior journalist Pawan Lalchand, and several other dignitaries.
