The Kedarnath Yatra, which had been temporarily halted due to obstruction on the footpath route, has resumed with pilgrims now proceeding safely under the watch of security personnel. The halt was imposed near Chhodi Gadhera, approximately one kilometre ahead of Gaurikund, where debris, boulders, and loose stones blocked the pedestrian path due to recent rain-triggered incidents.

Early this morning, authorities cleared boulders that had fallen in the Sonprayag Shuttle Parking area. Once the road was cleared, movement of vehicles and shuttle services resumed, enabling stranded pilgrims to continue their journey. Shuttle services are currently operational from the Sonprayag Shuttle Parking area and Munkatiya Sliding Zone, while several devotees are choosing to proceed on foot.

The critical obstruction near Chhodi Gadhera led to a temporary pause in foot movement for safety reasons. The Public Works Department (PWD), the implementing agency, has since initiated clearance and repair work in the affected area. In the interim, security forces were deployed to manage the situation and ensure the safe passage of pilgrims.

Pilgrims stranded at both ends of the blocked route are now being guided through the cleared sections under the supervision of security forces. Their support and active assistance have been crucial in maintaining order and reassuring devotees amid the disruption.

Authorities confirmed that the Kedarnath Yatra has now become operational again, with stranded pilgrims from the Sonprayag area being allowed to proceed towards Gaurikund and further up the yatra route. Safety measures continue to be strictly enforced to prevent any further risk, especially in vulnerable zones.

The district administration has urged pilgrims to stay updated through official advisories and cooperate with security forces and yatra officials to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage experience.
