On the occasion of National Doctor’s Day, a special felicitation ceremony was organized at Mukhya Sevak Sadan to honour doctors from across Uttarakhand for their invaluable service to society. The event was marked by expressions of gratitude and admiration for the medical fraternity, with speakers acknowledging the role of doctors as not just healthcare providers but as symbols of compassion, dedication, and selfless service.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami described medicine as a “noble profession” that gives hope and life to countless individuals. He emphasized that the contribution of doctors extends far beyond clinical settings—they serve as lifelines, especially in challenging geographies like Uttarakhand where access to healthcare in remote areas remains a priority.

The Chief Minister highlighted that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is making continuous efforts to strengthen and expand healthcare services. “Our goal is to ensure that quality medical care reaches every citizen of the state at affordable costs,” he said.

A significant achievement under this vision has been the success of the state’s cashless treatment scheme. So far, more than 11 lakh beneficiaries across Uttarakhand have received free medical treatment worth over ₹2100 crore. This has not only reduced the financial burden on families but has also increased access to life-saving medical procedures, especially for economically weaker sections.

The felicitation ceremony also recognized the commitment of doctors during natural disasters, the COVID-19 pandemic, and in routine healthcare delivery in difficult terrain. The event served as a reminder of the vital role healthcare professionals play in society and the continued support and recognition they deserve.

Senior health officials, doctors, medical staff, and dignitaries were present at the event, making it a moment of pride and gratitude for Uttarakhand’s healthcare community.
