Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the first batch of pilgrims for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra from the Tourist Rest House in Tanakpur on Saturday, marking a spiritual milestone for Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Welcoming pilgrims from 11 different states, CM Dhami presented mementoes that reflected the rich cultural heritage of the state and extended his best wishes for a safe and blessed journey.

Calling the Yatra a profound spiritual experience rather than a mere religious ritual, the Chief Minister said, “Kailash Mansarovar is not just a destination, but a divine journey of devotion and inner awakening.” He added that every corner of Uttarakhand reverberates with the presence of Lord Shiva and that the yatra connects pilgrims not only with the holy site but with their inner selves.

CM Dhami also highlighted how, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, infrastructural advancements have significantly shortened the duration of the journey—from over a week to just a few hours—making this sacred yatra more accessible to devotees.

Reaffirming the state government’s commitment, Dhami said all arrangements—healthcare, meals, accommodation, and security—have been streamlined for a hassle-free pilgrimage. He prayed for a safe, smooth, and spiritually fulfilling journey for all pilgrims.

Pilgrims expressed gratitude for the Uttarakhand government’s hospitality and praised the excellent arrangements made for their comfort and safety.

Present at the flag-off were Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, IG ITBP and PRO for the Yatra Sanjay Gunjiyal, Kumaon IG Riddhim Aggarwal, Managing Director of KMVN Vineet Tomar, Champawat DM Manish Kumar, Pithoragarh DM Vinod Goswami, and Champawat SP Ajay Ganpati.
