Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today embarked on a jungle safari in the world-renowned Corbett National Park, where he witnessed the breathtaking beauty of wildlife and nature. Describing the experience as both thrilling and inspiring, he said the jungle safari is not only a close encounter with biodiversity but also a reminder of Uttarakhand’s rich natural heritage.
Highlighting the state’s eco-tourism potential, the Chief Minister said, “Due to the consistent efforts of the state government, jungle safari tourism has gained a new identity. The increasing number of domestic and international tourists is strengthening Uttarakhand’s tourism-based economy.” He emphasized that such initiatives are opening new avenues for self-employment and livelihood for the local population, especially in areas close to forest reserves.
In a significant green initiative, over 1,000 saplings were planted under the state-wide campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ with the support of the Forest Department, local communities, and environmental enthusiasts. The Chief Minister remarked that this plantation drive is a heartfelt tribute to motherhood and nature, aiming to raise awareness and emotional connection with the environment.
During the visit, CM Dhami also interacted with the Forest Department team and praised their unwavering commitment to forest and wildlife conservation. He lauded the department’s dedication in maintaining ecological balance, protecting endangered species, and preserving the lush green cover of Uttarakhand.
The visit not only underscored the government’s focus on sustainable tourism but also reiterated its pledge to environmental conservation. CM Dhami’s participation in both the safari and plantation event reflects the state’s balanced approach to development and ecology.
