Pakistan once again violated the ceasefire agreement by initiating unprovoked artillery shelling in the Bhimber Gali area of the Poonch-Rajouri sector along the Line of Control (LoC). The Indian Army responded with measured but firm retaliation, maintaining operational restraint while safeguarding its forward posts and civilian areas.
According to defence sources, the ceasefire violation occurred early Wednesday, escalating tensions in the region. In response to continued provocations and recent terror incidents, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor—a targeted military operation aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure operating from across the border.
As part of Operation Sindoor, India carried out precision strikes on multiple terror launchpads and camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), delivering a strong message against cross-border terrorism. The action follows the recent Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, prompting nationwide calls for justice and decisive retaliation.
The Indian Army remains on high alert across the LoC, and officials confirmed that the response will continue to be appropriate to the evolving situation. The government reaffirmed its commitment to defending national security and ensuring peace in the border regions.
