Dehradun: On the occasion of National Public Relations Day, a special workshop was organized by the Dehradun chapter of the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) in Dehradun. The theme of the workshop was “Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence: Role of Public Relations”.
The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Director General of Information and Vice Chariman MDDA, Banshidhar Tiwari, along with Joint Director Information Dr. Nitin Upadhyay, CEO of Badri kedar Temple Committee (BKTC) Vijay Thapliyal, and President of PRSI Dehradun Chapter Ravi Vijarnia, by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Addressing the gathering, Banshidhar Tiwari emphasized the importance of maintaining human values in the age of AI. He said that while AI technology saves time and enhances productivity, it is crucial to use it responsibly, keeping humanity at the core. He urged people to verify information before sharing it, as misinformation can harm both individuals and society.
Joint Director Information Dr. Nitin Upadhyay highlighted the challenges and opportunities brought by new technologies. He said AI should serve as a helpful tool in public relations, not a complete replacement for human interaction.
News-18 editor Anupam Trivedi discussed the rising challenge of fake news due to AI misuse and stressed the importance of personal relationships in public relations.
CEO Badrikedar Temple Committee Vijay Thapliyal stated that while AI can provide information, it cannot replace human emotions and sensitivity.
Technical expert Akash Sharma gave a detailed presentation on AI tools and their responsible use in public relations.
The program was conducted by Anil Verma, while PRSI President Ravi Vijarnia welcomed the participants. Several PRSI members and public relations professionals attended the event, making it a meaningful and engaging session.
