ACS Anand Bardhan officially assumed charge as the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand at the secretariat today. Outgoing Chief Secretary Radha Raturi formally handed over responsibilities to him in the presence of senior officials.
After taking charge, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan emphasized that the successful implementation of government policies aimed at the state’s development will be the administration’s top priority. He highlighted key areas of focus, including livelihood generation, employment, skill development, and reverse migration. He stressed that exploring new livelihood opportunities and strengthening infrastructure are crucial for Uttarakhand’s progress.
Addressing challenges in urbanization and the healthcare sector, Bardhan underscored the need for continuous efforts to enhance cities and improve health services. He also pointed out that water conservation is an urgent issue, as the world grapples with a water crisis. He emphasized the necessity of implementing effective ground-level solutions to benefit the common citizen.
Speaking on Uttarakhand’s financial situation, the new Chief Secretary stated that increasing revenue streams and discovering new financial resources will be key focus areas for the administration.
The handover ceremony was attended by all officers and employees of the Secretariat, marking the beginning of a new administrative chapter under Bardhan’s leadership.
