Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday distributed appointment letters to 126 newly selected Gram Panchayat Development Officers (GPDO) under the Panchayati Raj Department at the Mukhya Sewak Niwas, Dehradun. He congratulated the candidates, stating that this marks a new chapter in their lives and urged them to contribute to the holistic development of villages, which is essential for the overall progress of the state.
The Chief Minister highlighted that over the past three and a half years, more than 20,000 youth have secured government jobs in Uttarakhand. He reiterated the importance of Gram Panchayat Development Officers in strengthening rural infrastructure and governance.
Emphasizing transparency in recruitment, CM Dhami stated that Uttarakhand has implemented the strictest anti-copying law in the country, ensuring merit-based selections. He stressed that individuals who achieve positions through dedication and hard work understand the struggles of the common people and serve with integrity.
The Chief Minister further mentioned that the state government is prioritizing the balanced development of both villages and cities to establish Uttarakhand as a leading state. He also noted that a bill has been passed in the assembly to enforce strict land laws in the state.
