CM Dhami Inspects Dehradun-Mussoorie Trekking Route, Orders Facility Upgrade

DAINIK NATION BUREAU /Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday inspected the Dehradun-Mussoorie trekking route on foot and reviewed the existing basic amenities along the popular trail. Aimed at boosting tourism and enhancing visitor experience, the Chief Minister directed the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) to develop essential facilities such as seating areas, food stalls, drinking water stations, and toilets while ensuring that the natural charm of the route remains intact.

CM Dhami emphasized the installation of attractive signage and railings for better cleanliness and clear route guidance. He also instructed the officials to implement robust safety and emergency measures for the trekkers and tourists.

During his visit, the Chief Minister interacted with senior citizens and experienced trekkers, taking note of their feedback and suggestions for improving the trekking experience. He asked the officials to incorporate these valuable inputs into the development plan.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Dhami underscored the state government’s commitment to improving trekking routes across Uttarakhand. “Our aim is to ensure that tourists and trekkers from across the country and the world can enjoy the natural beauty, culture, and hospitality of Uttarakhand. We want them to leave with memorable experiences,” he said.

The Chief Minister further added that similar upgrades would be carried out on other trekking routes across the state to promote eco-tourism and support local communities.

Senior officials, including Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari and Pollution Control Board Member Secretary Parag Dhakate, accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection.
