Uttarakhand Power Corporation’s JE has been arrested by the Vigilance team for taking a bribe of 20 thousand rupees for the electricity connection of a flour mill. Hemendra,son of Tulsiram resident of village Gopipura Mod, Chandpur, complained about this on April 15 in the Doon Vigilance Office. Hemendra said in the complaint that in the past, he has set up a flour mill in the village. For this, he had contacted Mahuakhera Ganj resident JE Rajendra Kumar Son Shyamlal of Pratappur area in the sub-divisional office of Power Corporation for an electrical connection of eight KW.
JE then asked for 39 thousand rupees for the connection, whereas government fees were only nine thousand rupees. The Vigilance team found the complaint right in the investigation. Here, according to Hemendra, on Thursday, Rajendra telephoned and asked him to come back with the money on Friday. Then Hemendra told him that he had only 20 thousand rupees. Hemendra gave this information to Vigilance. On the advice of Vigilance, Hemendra reached the sub division office of the power department in Kashipur, taking the amount in the morning on Friday morning. Here the Vigilance team arrested J.E. Rajendra Kumar for taking Rs 20,000 cash bribe.
