Two-days long Gorkha Dashai-Deepawali Mahotsav-2017, which is being organized by Veer Gorkhali Kalyan Samiti (Valiant gorkhali welfare committee) , inaugurated by state finance minister Prakash Pant here in mahendra ground, garhi cantt, Dehradun today. It has opened for all today and will continue till Sunday
In his address Pant said that people celebrate dashai deepawali festival till gobardhan puja. As we know that Uttarakhand has roti-beti relation with neighbouring country Nepal. it is our duty to strengthen the releation. MLA Ganesh joshi has also congratulated to the Gorkha community for this.
On this occasion they started their cultural programme with ganesh vandana then they presented sirbandi song with their traditional dance. A delegation from Nepal also presented folk song and excited audience joined the chorus. Later they also presented programme in Garhwali, Kumaoni, Jausari, Himachali and Hindi too. During this festival they also relished the food, which were available at food stalls.
The samiti president Sravan Singh Pradhan said that this mela objective is to community people together so that they can exchanged their ideas and views each other.
