On the occasion of platinum jubilee of Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC), many programmes were organised at the cluster office of the bank here on Sunday. A blood donation camp and a road show were highlights of the day. The programme was formally inaugurated by the General Manager (GM) of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN), B L Rana by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
In his address, the Deputy General Manager (DGM) of OBC, B R Maurya said that the bank came into existence on this day (February 19) in 1943 and it is serving the people from last 74 years. He elaborated upon the past achievements and schemes of the bank on the occasion. Maurya said that the bank has opened special Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) clusters for promotion of small and medium scale industries and distribution of Mudra loans. In these clusters hassle free loans are provided at very low interest rates. A free accidental insurance of Rs 10 lakh is beiong provided to the customer if an account under premium salary scheme is opened with the bank. Large number of employees of the bank donated their blood on the occasion. The platinum day celebrations were held in all the branches of bank across the country.
