Haridwar MP and former chief minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank alleged on Saturday that the chief minister had put undue pressure over the transport department officials to issue special permissions to 50 vehicles carrying the members of the team led by the poll strategist of the ruling party Prasant Kishor. He further said that the CM had manipulated things in such a way that the cars carrying PK teams were being spared searching while others were being searched. “This is an offence of such magnitude that it warrants the CM to apologize and quit,” he said while interacting with the media after welcoming a few more Congress leaders in the BJP at the state party headquarters in the city.
He further said that 2014 was poised to repeat in this election too, giving a sweeping victory to BJP.
Referring to the continuing exodus from Congress to BJP, he said that this would be end of the corruption-stained career of the Harish Rawat government. “The ship is sinking fast and those entire still on board are jumping the ship,” he said.
Calling the PM’s Haridwar rally ‘historical’, the senior BJP leader said that PM had won the heart of the people by promising better days for the people of the state.
