Former Union Minister and Congress MP Kamalnath alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP regime are indulging in the politics of craftiness (kalakari) . he said that the people of Uttarakhand should be made aware of the condition of States like MP which have been under a BJP regime for long. He further questioned whether there was an alternative to chief minister Harish Rawat considering his vision, view, capability and experience for doing the needful in Uttarakhand.
Kamal Nath questioned whether any other candidate in the Vidhan Sabha election 2017 had the vision, view, capability and experience of chief minister Harish Rawat. He said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party should tell the people about the situation in a state like MP, from where I hail and where the BJP government has been in office for 13 years. MP is now considered among the most corrupt states in India, has high incidence of gender crimes and high infant mortality rate while also leading in the number of farmers’ suicides and the percentage of unemployment. The BJP is indulging in politics of kalakari (craftiness) and slogans backed by money and resources,” he said, while raising a question at the money and resources being expended on campaign by BJP candidates.
Accusing the BJP-led Union government of trying to bring down democratically elected government in more than one state, he said that “three days before former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Kalikho Pul was found to have committed suicide, he had talked to me about the initial enticement and the problematic situation created” in state politics. Referring to the 11 Congress rebel leaders now in the BJP, he said, “The 11 rebels had acted in consonance with the BJP in the Vidhan Sabha, for which they were awarded party tickets to contest the election. The people will ask them how come they are now favouring and campaigning for the very politicians they used to lambast regularly in the past,” he said.
