Following strict instructions from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Food Safety Department has intensified its crackdown against food adulteration across Uttarakhand. As part of this ongoing campaign, a major action was taken in the holy city of Haridwar on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
During a special inspection drive, a paneer and yogurt manufacturing unit operating in Ibrahimpur was raided by the Food Safety Department. Officials found that the factory was functioning without a valid food safety license, in clear violation of food safety regulations.
Taking immediate action, the department sealed the unit and destroyed all food items found on the premises. Samples of paneer and yogurt were collected and sent to the State Food Laboratory in Rudrapur for detailed testing to check for quality and adulteration.
Food Safety officials stated that such inspections are being conducted regularly, especially during major religious festivals, to ensure that devotees are provided with safe and hygienic food items. They reiterated that strict action will continue against anyone found compromising public health by violating food safety norms.
The state government has made it clear that there will be zero tolerance towards food adulteration, and offenders will face stringent legal consequences.
