Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, upon receiving information about cloudbursts in Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Tehri and Bageshwar districts, immediately spoke to the District Magistrates of the affected areas and directed them to speed up relief and rescue operations. He instructed officials to ensure that affected families are shifted to safe locations without delay.
In a high-level disaster management meeting held at his residence on Friday, the Chief Minister reviewed the situation and directed officials to restore essential services like road connectivity, electricity and drinking water at the earliest. He received detailed updates from the District Magistrates of Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Tehri and Bageshwar through virtual mode and asked them to further intensify relief measures. He also inquired about rainfall and road conditions from the District Magistrate of Nainital.
CM Dhami emphasized that the government and administration must remain on full alert during the monsoon season. He assured that all necessary resources for relief operations would be provided immediately and instructed officials to ensure timely compensation to affected families as per norms.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Principal Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, ADG A. P. Anshuman, Secretary Disaster Management Vinod Kumar Suman, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey and Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate.
