The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued notification for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (II) and the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination (II), 2025. The online application process has commenced from May 28 and will continue till June 17, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official website of UPSC — www.upsc.gov.in.
As per the notification, candidates aspiring to join the Army, Navy, or Air Force through NDA or CDS must ensure they meet the required educational qualifications, age criteria, and physical standards.
For NDA/NA Examination (2), candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognized board. Those applying for Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme) must have studied Physics and Mathematics in Class 12 or be currently enrolled in the stream.
For the CDS (2) exam, candidates must hold a graduation degree or engineering degree from a recognized university or institution. Detailed eligibility criteria, including age limits and physical standards, are provided in the official notification.
Applicants must complete a One Time Registration (OTR) on the UPSC portal before filling out the application form. Essential documents such as photograph, signature, educational certificates, Aadhaar card, and a valid email ID and mobile number must be kept ready. The application fee is ₹200 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while SC/ST and female candidates are exempted from the fee.
The exams serve as a gateway for recruitment into prestigious defense institutions like the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and Officers Training Academy.
