Marking a significant step towards strengthening law enforcement and public safety, the foundation stone for a new police station in Banbhulpura was laid today. Inspector General of Kumaon Range, Mrs. Riddhim Agarwal, and Senior Superintendent of Police, Nainital, Mr. Prahlad Narayan Meena, jointly performed the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony at the construction site.
This development follows the announcement made last year by Uttarakhand Chief Minister, in which he assured the public that land in Banbhulpura would be allocated to the Police Department for the establishment of a new police station. Acting on this assurance, the Police Headquarters Uttarakhand and SSP Nainital completed all necessary formalities, including land allocation and coordination with the construction agency.
Speaking at the event, IG Kumaon and SSP Nainital emphasized that the new police station aims to enhance policing capabilities, ensure quick redressal of local complaints, strengthen crime prevention mechanisms, and effectively monitor the movement of suspicious individuals and outsiders in the region. The station will play a crucial role in maintaining law and order and deterring unruly and anti-social elements.
SSP Meena extended gratitude to the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and senior officials for their support in making this long-awaited initiative a reality. Local residents and police personnel present at the event expressed optimism that the new police station will bring greater security and trust between the police and the community.
The new facility is expected to be equipped with modern infrastructure and resources, which will further empower the police force to serve the people of Banbhulpura more efficiently.
