CM Dhami Attends Holi Milan Ceremony in Delhi, Highlights UCC & Uttarakhand’s Achievements

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the traditional Holi Milan ceremony at the official residence of Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Ajay Tamta. The event, held in New Delhi, was marked by cultural festivities and vibrant celebrations of Holi.

Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami extended his Holi greetings, emphasizing the festival’s role in fostering love, unity, and cultural harmony. He highlighted Uttarakhand’s rich Holi traditions, including ‘Baithki’ and ‘Khadi Holi,’ which reflect the state’s deep-rooted cultural heritage.

During his speech, the CM cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, referring to the third decade of the 21st century as “the decade of Uttarakhand.” He expressed pride in the state’s top ranking in the NITI Aayog’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Report 2023-24, attributing it to the government’s dedicated efforts.

CM Dhami reiterated that Uttarakhand becoming the first state in India to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He described the move as a historic step toward social equality and justice, fulfilling a long-standing demand. He also praised the state’s new land law, aimed at protecting local resources and citizens’ rights.

The celebration saw participation from several dignitaries, including senior BJP leader Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, BJP state in-charge Dushyant Gautam, State BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, and Delhi MLA Manoj Shaukeen. Guests exchanged Holi greetings with gulal and enjoyed folk music and cultural performances, making the evening a memorable one.
