In a bid to bring digital transformation, Base Hospital Srinagar has introduced UPI-based payment options for OPD registration. QR codes have been installed at the registration counters, enabling patients to make cashless payments quickly and conveniently.
The initiative aims to simplify processes for both patients and hospital staff. In the first phase, patients can now pay their OPD registration fees through UPI, eliminating the need for cash transactions. In the second phase, the hospital plans to extend this facility to include payment for diagnostic tests as well.
Previously, all payments at the registration counter were made in cash, which often posed challenges, especially for those without smaller denominations. This new system not only saves time but also provides seamless service to patients. The hospital has already begun generating prescriptions digitally using Abha ID, and the addition of online payment is further enhancing the hospital’s digital capabilities.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Ajay Vikram Singh highlighted the benefits of the new system, stating, “QR codes have been installed at the counters. Patients can now scan the codes and deposit their OPD registration fees effortlessly. This initiative is part of our efforts to make the hospital more patient-friendly and efficient.”
The introduction of online payment is receiving positive feedback, particularly from patients who appreciate the convenience and reduced wait times. The hospital’s move toward digitalization is a step forward in improving healthcare services and aligning with modern practices.
