The Uttarakhand government has handed the charge sheet to Suspended IAS Pankaj Kumar Pandey and Chandresh Kumar Yadav in the NH 74 land compensation scam. Both will have to answer within 14 days. After this, the government will take a decision on appointing a senior IAS officer as an officer in the case.
The sources said that the Department of Personnel handed over the chargesheet to the two officers on Friday. The charge sheet issued from the signature of Additional Chief Secretary (Personnel) Radha Raturi has been handed to both the officers individually. They have been asked to respond to the allegation in the charge sheet within 14 days.
Documents also handed in the charge sheet
A senior officer says that the charge sheet has been focused on the allegations made by SIT on both the officers. There are some documents along with the chargesheets that mention obligations in the form of an arbitrator. The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 and the NH Act of 1956 have the powers of the arbitrator and also mentioned the mistakes of the suspended officers.
The prosecution will also be allowed soon
Permission for prosecution against IAS Pankaj Kumar Pandey may be granted soon. SIT has demanded permission to start the case against Pandey, while the departmental inquiry against Suspend IAS Chandresh Kumar Yadav has been recommended. Now the prosecution has not been allowed on behalf of the government, but Pandey has already reached the High Court for the anticipatory bail. On October 10, the hearing was proposed on their application.

In this scandal, seven PCS officers Anil Kumar Shukla, Dinesh Pratap Singh, Surendra Singh Jangpangi, Nandan Singh Nagniyal, Bhagat Singh Fonia, Jagdish Lal and Tirthpal Singh were suspended.
