School bus first aid box had vaseline in place of Dettol; DM

Strange but true, school bus first aid box carry vaseline instead of dettol and cotton. This has been revealed during the surprise inspection of Haridwar DM Deepak Rawat in haridwar on Friday. When he opened the shabby first aid box then he lost his cool because it was having ash tray, old clothes and Vaseline. Taking cognizance on it he called the Assistant Road Transport Officer (ARTO)  Haridwar on the spot and asked him to check the bus thoroughly. Meanwhile DPS Ranipur principal said ‘the bus does not belong to his school.’ By saying this he might have shrug off his responsibility but it has revealsed how our RTO, which is enforcement agency, are executing their part of work and how parents are overlooking the basic safety of their children.

On Friday he was walking on road from his office then suddenly a school bus was coming from opposite side. Seeing bus full of school children he asked the driver to stop the bus. Later he himself checked the bus and found driver was running the bus without assistance. Even bus was not in yellow colour and even school staff was also not there.

When he opened the first aid box then he found an Ash tray, Vaseline and old clothes, which might be used to clean the seat. Taking cognizance on it, he asked the Roorkee and Haridwar ARTO to conduct special drive against such buses which ferry school children without following the basic safety norms. Meanwhile he seized the license on the bus driver and RC too. The bus belong to Ranipur and was carrying students more than than the prescribed norms. Their parents are government servant and they had hired the bus to ferry their children.

DPS R  anipur Principal KC Pandey said that the bus does not belong to his school. Their buses are yellow in colour and having net, CCTV camera and school staff as well. Their bus, whichever seized by the DM, does not go to Roshnabad SIDCUL Areas and parent might have been hired by their parent to ferry their ward. Although DM did not stop here and he asked the ARTO to call their parent. Till filing the report ARTO was busy in their investigation.
