UK Gov reviews disaster status in the state

Uttarakhand governor Dr KK Paul reviewed the disaster management measures in place in the state. He also reviewed the training programmes for officers in this regard. He obtained information about the losses in the recent tragedy that occurred due to disaster in Malpa in Pithoragarh and also about the current status there.

 

The governor said that training in disaster management from time to time must be ensured for officials and staff. Modern techniques and equipment must be used. It should also be ensured that construction agencies use disaster resistant techniques in construction of government buildings. The governor was told about the SDRF and its action plan for the state.

 

Present at the meeting were secretary (disaster management) Amit Negi, secretary to the governor Ravi Nath Raman, IG (SDRF) Sanjay K Gunjiyal and executive director of DMMC Dr Piyoosh Rautela.
