Red Alert for Heavy Rain: Schools and Anganwadi Centres Closed in Dehradun Today

In view of the red alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Centre, Dehradun, for heavy to very heavy rainfall, the district administration has ordered the closure of all schools up to Class 12 and Anganwadi centres across the district on Tuesday, September 16.

District Magistrate of Dehradun announced the holiday as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and children. The Meteorological Department has warned of continuous heavy rainfall, which could trigger waterlogging, landslides, and other disruptions in low-lying and hilly areas.

The administration has also appealed to residents to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay updated with official advisories. Emergency response teams have been put on alert to tackle any situation arising due to the heavy rains.
