PM Modi Announces ₹1200 Crore Flood Relief Package for Uttarakhand

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Dehradun on Tuesday to review the extensive damage caused by floods and landslides in Uttarakhand. During a high-level meeting, the Prime Minister assessed the situation and assured full central support to the state in its recovery efforts.

Announcing a relief package of ₹1200 crore for flood and rain-affected areas, PM Modi said the government is committed to the restoration and reconstruction of damaged infrastructure. He also declared an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh for the families of those who lost their lives and ₹50,000 for the injured.

In a major relief measure, PM Modi announced comprehensive assistance under the PM CARES for Children scheme to support children orphaned by the recent floods and landslides.

During his visit, the Prime Minister met disaster-affected families, offering condolences and words of reassurance. He also interacted with NDRF, SDRF, and Aapda Mitra volunteers, lauding their tireless rescue and relief efforts in challenging conditions.

Reiterating the Centre’s commitment, PM Modi assured that every possible measure would be taken to restore normalcy in Uttarakhand and to support the state government in rebuilding lives and infrastructure.
