To scientifically evaluate the losses caused by recent disasters, an inter-ministerial central team from the Government of India visited Pauri district on Tuesday and inspected affected areas. The team, led by Joint Secretary R. Prasanna, visited Saanji village under Tehsil Pauri and directly interacted with villagers to understand their needs and challenges.
During the field visit, the team conducted a detailed study of damaged houses, roads, livelihood resources, and personal losses. They also reviewed arrangements for food, drinking water, medical facilities, temporary shelters, and rescue operations provided during the crisis. A drone survey of the damaged areas was also carried out.
The central team lauded the prompt relief efforts of the district administration and expressed satisfaction with the measures taken so far. “This inspection is aimed at factually assessing the scale of the damage and submitting a detailed report to the Central Government. Based on this, effective steps will be taken for reconstruction and normalization of life in the affected areas,” said R. Prasanna.
District Magistrate Swati S. Bhadoria informed that the report of the central team will help the Central Government take necessary decisions to accelerate rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in coordination with the state government.
The team included Deputy Director Vikas Sachan, Chief Engineer Pankaj Singh, and Finance Director Shailesh Kumar. On this occasion, ADM Anil Garbyal, District Development Officer Manvinder Kaur, CO Trivendra Singh Rana, and other departmental officials were present.
