Despite adverse weather conditions, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday reached the disaster-affected areas of Laksar in Haridwar district to take stock of the situation caused by heavy rains and flooding. The Chief Minister travelled through submerged roads on a tractor to inspect rural and waterlogged areas and directly interacted with affected families.

During the field inspection, CM Dhami observed damaged roads, broken bridges, and houses surrounded by water. He assured the people that the state government stands firmly with every disaster-hit citizen and emphasized that no negligence in relief and rehabilitation work will be tolerated.

The Chief Minister instructed district administration and disaster management officials to expedite relief measures, ensuring arrangements for safety, temporary housing, food, clean drinking water, and healthcare for the displaced families. He directed officials to make adequate arrangements in relief camps, including proper sanitation, medicines, and timely relocation of families from unsafe areas.

Dhami also ordered a quick assessment of crop losses to initiate compensation for farmers at the earliest and stressed the need for health camps in flood-affected villages.

“The government will provide all possible assistance to the affected families. Rescue operations are our top priority, and we will not allow any shortage in relief work,” the Chief Minister said while addressing villagers.

MLA Pradeep Batra, District Magistrate, Senior Superintendent of Police Haridwar, and other officials accompanied him during the inspection.
