Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has flagged off the Adi Kailash Parikrama Run (Ultra Marathon) promo run and unveiled its official logo from his residence on Sunday. The marathon, which is scheduled to be held on November 2, 2025, from Gunji village in Vyas Valley, will commemorate the 25th anniversary of Uttarakhand’s statehood.

CM Dhami said that the marathon, to be held at an altitude of 10,300 to 15,000 feet, will not only promote adventure and winter tourism but also encourage youth to adopt a healthy lifestyle and strengthen the state’s pledge for a drug-free Uttarakhand.

Highlighting its importance, Dhami said the Adi Kailash Marathon would be a milestone for the socio-economic development of border villages by curbing migration, generating local employment, and boosting tourism infrastructure. He noted that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s Vibrant Village Scheme.

“This marathon is not just a sporting event, but a medium to give respect, local identity, and permanent employment opportunities through home-stay and tourism,” Dhami added.
